2nd/Lt Clary and crew FTR on Sept 29th 1943 during a mission to Bochum. Sgt. Scudder and F/O Belllinger were killed, the pilot evaded capture and the remaining four crew were captured as POWs till war end. The Luftwaffe pilot; Hptm E. Prinz (Prince) zur Lippe-Weissenfeld from III/NJG 1 claimed the victory at 21:44 near Enschede. Unfortunately the Luftwaffe prince also claimed victory over the Popplewell crew 24 on this same night.
