Aircraft 434 > LK-792
Hello Darrin,
I am very interested in the Royal Canadian Air Force Halifax,in particular, Halifax LK792 that crashed near my village of Ede,Gelderland,Netherlands
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the plane and the crew. I live in Ede, and I'm researching this crash too. The aircraft is part of the local
history of Ede, and the liberation of Holland.
Do you have any pictures of the Halifax, and if you do, please would it be possible for you to send me a copy for my research. I would like to
put a framed photograph on the graves of the crew from this aircraft to honour them
I have visited the graves in Ede, and soon I will visit the graves in Groesbeek too.
I found a piece of the airplane at the Driesprong, it is a small section from the wing. As you probably know the Halifax was shot over the Driesprong, but it didn't crash there.
A friend of mine from England is a Allied Air Force researcher, and he would like to see the location. That's the reason why he is coming to Ede this year.
I don't know the location of the crash, I've seen the photo's on the site, but I find it impossible to locate the actual crash site.
In your records,do you have any map reference, GPS codes or maybe some more pictures of the crash site!
If you do,it would absolutely be great! And that also applies to pictures of the aircrew and the plane!
Kindest regards,
Elias van der Pol

Hi Kev and Elias , sorry for delay in checking these posts . The only info I have is that which is posted along with photos on this website under "Crash Sites FTR " . Elias , I wonder if it would be possible for you to contact the Gentlemen in the aticle who live in or near Ede ? Mr Olsboom was an eyewitness to the crash , Mr Evert Arendsen was a Forest Ranger that knows the area where the plane crashed. There are pictures of " Crew 52 " on this website as well . I would love to have a piece of the air craft sent to me here in Canada if at all possible . As for pictures of LK-792 , WL-N I am still looking. Kev , were you able to provide any info for Elias ? I tried to get a GPS location of the site from Ben Zonnenberg who ,at that time ,was the Legion president in your area of Ede . I was unable to make further contact with Ben unfortunately. Please feel free to cantact me by email or phone 403-394-1066 . Cheers , Darrin
