Majority of all aircrew were trained in the BCATP (British Commonwealth Air Training Plan) at airfield locations across Canada. Once completed the young men were on thier way to England. Additional training took place at O.T.U's. (Operational Training Unit's), and H.C.U's. (Heavy Conversion Units). OTU's and HCU's had a designated #. Example; HCU #1664 and OTU #22.
