...Later on when the men were overseas, every night my father would sit on a chair or the couch and spread the world map out on the small table, would turn the radio on for the war news and make marks on the map or talk to my mother about what was happening. Two of his sons were there right now and he was there right now with his map, radio, table and pencils of different colours and intensely involved in trying to figure out where his boys were and how the war was generally going.
