Hi Michael
My sister came across this site recently and although it has been a long time since you made your initial enquiry I thought that you may be interested in news of my father.Ron Sculthorpe who was the Wireless Operator with your fathers crew.
After completing his tour of operations he spent the rest of the war trainig new recruits.
He married my mother in January1945 and left the airforce at the end of the war.
Both him and my mother are still alive and in excellent health and dad still fondly recalls his times with the crew.
I hope that this information is of help and should you require any more information I would be happy to give it to you
Best wishes

Hi,
My husband's uncle was Ross Raymond Lunn. He was a gunner with crew 49. I have recently sent Alan (operator of this site) a picture of Ross. Unfortunately, Ross passed away in 2010, after serving with the military his entire life. He continued on with the military after WW2 furthering his education, then started to work with NATO in the late 60's, rising in the ranks to the very top. He had a very decorated life, and his family is very proud of him. He received a full military funeral and is buried in Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, Canada's National Military Cemetery. I would love to hear from anyone else who has relatives in this crew. If anyone has pictures they would be willing to share, I would also appreciate it. We are trying to compile a shadowbox tribute to Ross, and pictures would be a very welcome addition. Thanks so much for everyone for posting here. This is a fantastic site!

Hello Michael,

My father was Archibald (AB) Gardner, the pilot of crew #39. I believe he was good friends with your Dad and continued to stay in touch after the war.
I'm sorry it has taken so long to discover this website, but so glad I finally did. I do have a few pictures from the war.

Thanks for reaching out
