An estimated 1400 bicycles...
On widely dispersed and camouflaged aerodromes the bicycle is the most economical, easiest and quickest way to get around. With the billets a mile from the mess and the field another mile and the aircraft perhaps another half mile, F/Sgt. Rice makes good use of about 1400 such bikes on his particular squadron for the use of personnel. There are about 10,000 issued cycles on the various dromes in the Canadian Bomber Group.
