They shot down a JU88. Tail gunner of a Bluenose squadron Halifax in RCAF Bomber Group Overseas, Sgt. Yvon Nowlan (41 Carlyle St.) Moncton N.B., sits on his rear turret, grins down at fellow-victor Sgt. Jimmy Dunlop, (53 third ave.) Weston Ont., midupper gunner and same aircraft. On a recent mine-laying flight a JU88 attacked them, cannon and machine guns flaming. They returned fire, but the Nazi was within 150 yards when it caught fire, dived. Another bomber crew saw it crash, explode. Nowlan shot down another JU88 on his last training flight, a leaflet “raid” on Paris.
