F/Sgt. Edward V. Matthews, crew 35 (6 missions)
Crew 35 was flying in a Halifax V, serial # LK-990, coded WL-X, piloted by P/O Walter Winning FTR from a mission to Leverkusen on the night of 19/20 Nov. 1943. The pilot died of injuries, the rest of the crew became P.O.W.
Following the end of the war Edward returned to Wales as a Gamekeeper where he worked for amongst others the Duke of Westminster for in excess of 50 years. The above photo was from a press release about his Life and service.
