F/O John Arscott, crew 91 (4 missions)
John was the bomb-aimer for the Maffre crew, flying in Halifax LL243 “WL-U” piloted by F/O Maffre to bomb the railway yards at Montzen on 27/28th April 1944.
Night fighter pilot Obit George Fengler, I. /NJG 1. shot down this A/C - crashing at approximately 0140h near Wittem, (Limburg), 18km ESE of Maastricht, four aircrew did not survive.
F/O Stacey evaded with the help of the Belgian patriots. F/O Arscott was assisted by the Dutch to evade the Germans. Sergeant Fuller was taken to P.O.W. camps L6/357.
