This is a message for Kelly O'Gorman whose father flew with a John Nicholas, radio operator, on crew 28 Keanne. John is alive and well and would love to hear from you. He (my uncle) was the youngest, 90 this week, of the crew and Rice, the eldest, is now 97 and living in Vancouver they are the last survivors. If anyone wishes to contact John please e.mail me and I will be happy to send his details to you. Excellent site, thank you for having the opportunity to post this message.
What a wonderful site. My dad, now 89, was Robert (Ted) Dew, a bomber, of the 434 Squadron, Bluenose. I was so excited to come across a picture of him. When I see him soon I will show him this site and see what information he might be able to supply, just for interest.
Thank you for this site it's amazing.
Hi Tony,I would love to compare notes regarding our farthers war history.I have very little detail except what I have managed to research from the squadron site.I think it is fascinating that our dads actually went on missions together. If you have any photos I would be very keen to see them.did your dad discuss his war time experiences with you?
Regards Duncan Gray.
For Ducan Gray - Ref Crew 81.
I have my fathers log and a few other odds and ends ....contact me ...I am more than willing to share what information I have.
Wow, my father is Jack Ferguson. Amazing that you can just do a search and catch a glimpse of his life from so long ago! Of course he is getting married in the photos... if you knew my dad it would not surprise you! Thanks for the memory!
My Great-Uncle, PO C.V. Dymond, Tail Gunner, was part of the Tandy crew, shot down by night fighters on the night of 12-13 June 1944, on a run over Aras France. I'm still looking for anyone related to any of the Tandy Crew, as I'm looking for pictures. I have no pictures of my Great Uncle in his uniform nor with his crew mates. If anyone can help, let me know please.
Shawn.
My father Sgt James Geddes won the squadron's first medal-a DFM (incidentally presented to him at Buckingham Palace on D Day). While recuperating from his injuries the rest of his original crew were killed on their next mission.
He went on to fly in Squadron 51 out of Snaith and survived the war. He was a Scot from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.
Your site is a wonderful asset and I am able to tell my young son about his Grandfather's war experience and the fickle nature of fate.
This is for Dirk - post of Nov 4, 2011
My uncle was GT Berg from that crew, I did a fairly extensive search 5 years ago without any luck in making contact with anyone. But did find the offical ops for that night. http://www.6grouprcaf.com/Oct43/Oct3~443.html
Here is the pilot's ( H. German) notation from Baseball in Wartime http://www.baseballinwartime.com/in_memoriam/german_harold.htm
Who are you and what other info do you have?
Regards
John Berg

Hi,
My Uncle, Ross Raymond Lunn, flew, as an Air Bomber, with Squadron 434 (49th Crew) from 30 September 1943, discharged to a Commission 16 February 1944, and then reassigned to Squadron 434 16 September 1944. He was a Flight Sargent, a Warrant Officer, a Pilot Officer, and then a Flying Officer during this time period. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross 06 January 1945.
I am going through his military file (unfortunately Uncle Ross past away in August, 2010 and is buried in Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario), and there is a note that says he "Twice coned over Dusseldor". Can anyone tell me what that means? Also, if anyone has any pictures of Ross at this time, I would love to see them!
This is intended for Mike Harbord - posted in May 2009 requesting information concerning Mike Gnius. Mike was my great uncle. I have recently been researching family history and came across this site in my search. Feel free to contact me - will share what I know.
Would also be interested in any information that others could provide related to my uncle - P/O Mike Gnius, Crew 51 who was KIA in Jan 44.
Many thanks!
Teresa Wilson (nee Gnius)
Helllo,
I have a copy of my father's log book and his last Sqdn was 434 from Sept 25th to Nov 4th, 1944. His last bombing was of Bochum 4/11/44. His S/L (pilot) was Morris. Dad was MU/AG. He doesn't list what crew # he was. His name is Glendon Roland Scott (Glen Scott, Scotty?). Does anyone have any pictures of him or do they know what crew he was part of or how I can find out. Love this site.
message for tony bird,my father also flew with 81 crew 434 sqd.I have no real information other than this .Do you?
I have learned that my farther Duncan gray flew with crew 81. I would like to know more detail if possible..
I am researching my late farthers war record and would be grateful for any information regarding him.his name was Duncan gray and he was a rear gunner in434 squadron. He recieved the DFC I believe in 1944.
I would like to have my Great Uncle's medals cleaned and properly arranged . Can any one tell me who could help with this or how to do it myself ? Thanks , Darrin
A fantastic, lively and well-illustrated site and a very useful tool for research. Congrats to all. I just wish there were more sites like this on the Net...
Keep up the great work.
Cheers.

Great Site. Gordon Moore - Squad 101 was my Great Uncle. I didn't get to know him much as we lived in Ontario and he and his family were in Fredericton, but I do remeber a visit there as a child. My father speaks of him flying a jet to visit him when he was in the Naval Hospital in Halifax in 1954. This is the first picture I've seen of him and he sure looks like my Grandfather (his brother). If there is any more info about him I would surely be interested to see or hear.

My mother's Uncle, P.O. C.V. Dymond, Tail Gunner, was on Crew #84, Tandy's Crew. They were shot down 12/13 June 1944 near Dunkirk. I Can't see any photo's of him OR the crew on here. If any body has photo's of his crew, could you please post them?
