Hi Alan,
Great job!
Sorry I've been so late in signing your book but thigns have been hectic here.
You have a fine tribute to the men of 434 squadron.
Glossary "Gone for a Burton"
In case you already didn't know this expression originates from the town of
Burton-on-Trent in England. This town is reknown for its beer
manufacturing. When someone says Gone for Burton, it means gone for a beer.
However, in the context of your article, it means gone and not coming
back. Your website is very interesting and brings back memories as my wife
and I lived in England through the 2nd world war.

Hey Alan:
This is a test of the emergency 'is my damned guestbook working' system.
If this was a real emergency, you would hear loud shrieking and a sledgehammer would disintigrate Alan's computer. Loud cursing would follow shortly thereafter, followed by the sound of a grown man crying in frustration.
This is a test.

P.S. Say Happy Mother's Day to your wife and promise not to be a big baby because of your fractured ankle, because if you're anything like my husband...well, poor Rhonda! :)
P.P.S. You can delete my guestbook entry if you want...lol

Hello Alan,
Very pleased with this new 434 website. Will send pictures from my visit to Croft. My cousin, F/O Joe Latremouille,434, ( killed on the Essen raid, Mar 11/45), and my brother F/O Roy Carter,431,(evader,executed by Gestapo on July 9/44) both flew from Croft. I will send pictures of Joe.
You are to be congratulated on this website, a tribute to all those associated with 434.

Alan.
Congratulations with your web site. I will take some time to go deeper into the message you want to tell however 405 sq was only part of 6 group for a few weeks.
So I think I have to build a website for 405 sq myself
Success,
Klaas.
Welcome to the RCAF 434 Squadron website, there is a very large amount to be added yet, including a Blog.
Enjoy the galleries for now.
Alan
Hi Alan,
Just wanted to congratulate you on a fine site which is a fitting tribute to both our Uncles and the many thousands of others who gave their tomorrows.
Thanks also for putting in the link to the BBC People's War story about my Uncle.
Best wishes.
