Dear Rose, and All
Well I got one of your letters yesterday, but I couldn’t answer last night cause we were out stirring up Jerry, or maybe I should say Adolf and his boys. I still don’t know why they get so miserable about it, just cause we want to drop a few bombs around his joints. They don’t play fair use real bullets.
So you are getting married in July are you? Well best of luck, but I still think Fred is getting the worst of the bargain, but if he is crazy enough to get married, he might as well marry you, and Mike agrees with me. These blotches on the paper here are some of Mike’s cake. I’m feeling in a good mood tonight, so I will send you a picture of Mike and myself. My dear girl, Mike will not get mixed up in his directions, it is Jimmy that does all the directing, he is the navigator. The rest of us never know where we are, nor how long it will take, all we hear is change course to so and so, target ½ hour away, fly at such and such speed, and all the rest of that stuff....
So long for now,
Love Clair
