Dear Rose, and All
...Well we have to work again tonight, I am rather nervous, but aren’t we all. You should be getting those crew pictures one of these fine days, and I have a few snaps I will send. What do you mean that I actually did some work? Say listen one trip we make is equal to a week’s hard labour, and we sometimes make 4 a week. They tell me I use to be good at night work as we do all our work at night.
...It burns me everytime I think of those dog races, I could just as easily of bet my dough on "Garden Frame" instead of "My Future", but then I could have done the same with "Always Best", and "John Chinaman".
So between Jack and I, we lost our dough, got drunk, picked up a couple of nice WAAFs, missed the train and walked 5 miles home, a wonderful time was had by all. But we did get home even if it was 6 O'clock Easter morning. Oh yeah remember that picture you sent of yourself sitting on the porch with the dress somewhere up in the region of your hips, well Mike told me to tell you that your pants look neat anyway. Cliff wanted to know if it was stocking ad, or if you thought you were Betty Grable. Ken thinks his blonde has nicer legs, and Jack is ready to go to Canada and head west. Jimmy and Chappie haven’t seen the west yet. Well I guess that is about all for this time.
So long for now, Love Clair
