Back from pranging Mannheim’s chemical works and engine factories, F/O Frank Carter of Courtney, BC and Iroquois, Ont. (Left) and Sgt. Harry Ells (252 W. Amelia St.) Fort William, tell F/L Fred Lord, 500 Millwood Road, Toronto, a flight commander of the Bluenose Squadron, how they left the German city blazing. All are pilots of the squadron commanded by W/C C.E. Harris, Annapolis, N.S. that operates as part of the RCAF Bomber Group.
Crew 10 piloted by Sgt. Harry Ells "FTR" as they were shot down on 18/19 Nov. 1943 on an “Op” to Mannheim. Six of the crew became POW and Sgt. J.C. Hinks was killed.
Crew 21 piloted by F/L Fred Lord “FTR.” from a mission to Hannover later this night, all were killed, 27/28 Sept. 1943.
Crew 30 Piloted by S/Ldr. F/O Frank Carter “FTR.” from an “Op” to Berlin 15/16 Feb. 1944 all were killed.
