“For four months I’ve been trying to get my 13th trip in, and boyohboy, I’m sure glad it’s over!” Said F/Sgt. Steve Saprunoff, midupper gunner in the crew of S/Ldr. Eric Hockey, Kentville , N.S. after returning from Mannheim on the night of November 18/19. The crew’s navigator F/O Jack Fergusen, 1954 Robinson St., Regina, Sask. “We couldn’t see anything when we arrived there”.

The crew’s only complaint was against the temperature which dropped to more than 35 below zero Fahrenheit during the trip of more than eight hours. The crew flies with the RCAF Bomber Group’s Bluenose Squadron.

Crew 3 - FTR 28/29 January 1944 from a mission to Berlin all became POW's.
